What this role do?

and some times, write some code.
In this role, you will have complete oversight to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery of our software offering to our customers.
Through collaborating with Product Management, product requirements and functionality will turn into technical designs, product releases, and efficient, high quality software.
This will be accomplished by clearly defined product roadmaps and requirements, and technology solutions, and alternatives needed to fulfill the product vision, while exceeding customer expectations, including planning product release cycles and release dates, forecasting development and resources, and timing, participating in architectural reviews.
As a member of Rappi management team, you will engage in company culture, product development, talent acquisition, employee retention, setting practices and principles, budget / expense management, and forecasting activities.
From the technical aspect, you will partner with the VP to provide input and implement the product, and software architecture, and proactively seek, analyze, and adopt new, effective, and cost-efficient technologies, processes, and methodologies.
In addition, determine and develop performance criteria, and measures necessary to analyze appropriate performance, and quality metrics to reinforce company goals.
A critical part of this role is advising Rappi of current legal requirements, changing practices, and market expectations, as it will assure the companies compliance with software, network, and SaaS security and audit requirements.

We are the OpsTech department, responsible for developing cutting-edge technology applied to the operation. We manage the logistics of the company applying technical and business knowledge.
Some of our ongoing projects are :
Courier (offer) spatial and temporal distribution.
Demand in-app guidance.
Order matching (assignment) and bundling.
Time and routing estimations (ETA’s, transportation directions).
You will be working alongside back and front-end developers (full-stack as well), operations researchers, data scientists, machine learning engineers, analytics consultants and product owners.
We strive for operational excellence and work with elevated volumes of data, using descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics.
Our problems are highly challenging, as we are constantly making decisions over hundreds of thousands of real-time variables.
We are a core department, enabling Rappi as a SuperApp in LatAm.

5-10 years of experience in an industry with scale type of problems.
Experience managing a team of 10+ people.
Experience with SCRUM, Kanban or some other agile frameworks
Knowledge of Mobile Frameworks, both iOS and Android development.
Accustomed to analyzing and working with large quantities of data, using analytical tools
Knowledge in SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc...).
Familiar with microservice-oriented software architectures.
Knows how to work with versioning systems (Git) and forms of agile software development methods.
Ability to communicate complicated technical problems and solutions to both technical and business audiences.
Knowledge in testing and experimenting strategies, both in development and production.
Fluent in English, both verbal and written.
Degree (s) in any of the following fields (or similar) : computer science, operations research, statistics, mathematics, engineering.
Use of NoSQL and caches (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, MemCached, etc...).
Can work with containers (Docker, Compose, Kubernetes).
Experience in CI / CD pipelines (Jenkins, GoCD, Concourse, etc...).
Knowledge in building data pipelines (Airflow, Luigi, etc...).
Fluent in Portugese, both verbal and written.
