The Senior Accountant performs a variety of advanced andspecialized accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles andstandards to control the organization's financial resources and ensures compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.
Provides work leadership and direction to other accountants.
Reports may include profit and loss statements, balance sheets,depreciation statements, cash flow, debtor and creditor lists, repaymentschedules, regulatory reports and filings.
Education and Experience : Bachelor's degree or equivalent andrelevant formal academic / vocational qualification. Previous experience that provides theknowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years’) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities : Demonstrated project leadership and consultancy skills with ability to function as an effective and respected partner to internal clients Advanced knowledge of accounting / financial principles and best practices Ability to apply advanced knowledge, skills, and expertise to analysis.
Good business acumen with ability to understand complex organizational structures and environments Excellent analytical and quantitative skillsAdvanced level of skill in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and presentation of data.
Ability to work with ambiguity and complexity Demonstrates executive presence and good presentation skills. Ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Environment : Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Long, varied hours may be required.
Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
Frequent mobility required. Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upperbody and neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
