Purpose Of Role :

In this client facing role, the holder is responsible and accountable for the financial performance, service delivery and developing long term strategic growth on large, strategically important and / or complex outsourced / IT contracts, or group of contracts.

In addition, responsibilities may cover a large sub-element of these contracts.

He / she would typically provide the primary point of contact to the client.

Key Responsibilities :

  • To maintain and develop customer relationships at Board / CEO level, customer satisfaction, delivering contract commitments within cost targets, overall profit of contract, revenue growth, and accountability for contractual service levels.
  • To oversee client business, manage relationships and contract management delivery.
  • Develops successful and sustainable long term business relationships with clients.
  • Typically, to lead an individual contract but may operate in support of a Senior on one of BT's very largest or strategically important contracts.
  • Business Impact :

  • Significant accountability and responsibility for the financial and business performance of a significant single contract, large sub-
  • element or group of smaller contracts.

  • The loss of such a contract or group of contracts would significantly affect BT's credibility in the external outsourcing market and financial performance within the specified sector within the short to medium term.
  • Authority / Decision Making :

  • The Business Director would be responsible and accountable for the P&L with significant management controls for setting both financial and functional targets and the associated control of budgets.
  • They would typically operate closely with the general manager or contract managing director.
  • Owns customer relationship.
  • Working within normal BT / LoB governance and DOA arrangements.
  • Qualifications :

  • Typically qualified to postgraduate level or equivalent in business discipline.
  • Skills / Experience :

  • Business & commercial experience including detailed understanding of P&L management.
  • Would be experienced in all elements of managing major outsourced contracts or other related positions, specifically management of a P&L.
  • A strong leader with exceptional customer relationship skills, able to quickly build and maintain relationships at the most senior levels both externally and internally.
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills.
