Leidos is seeking an experienced chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and high-yield explosive (CBRNE) commercial-

off-the-shelf (COTS) and government-off-the-shelf (GOTS) equipment operations and maintenance technician in support of US Government stakeholders positioned Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS).

The candidate will be expected to maintain 5KW generators for CBRNE systems in OCONUS locations, including all associated components.

  • Under general supervision, the Generator Technician performs a variety of skilled and technical tasks in the inspection, repair, preventive, and corrective maintenance and modification on Internal Combustion (IC) engines, diesel generators, and other IC gaseous engines;
  • tests, replaces or adjusts engine components such as valves, pistons, bearings, emissions systems, and other related systems;
  • and, interprets schematic wiring and modifies diesel control circuits.

    The candidate will be expected to research and gather relevant project data, contribute to the development of technical documentation and equipment readiness reports, respond to customer inquiries, and verify product technical quality.

    This position will be located in (see position locations below) with expected travel at approximately 50%.

    Due to federal contract regulations, US citizenship is required.


  • Assist and participate in routine inspections and make modifications to IC engines, diesel generators, and associated equipment.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS) and annunciator panels.
  • Perform load testing on units to identify possible problems and prevent wet stacking.
  • Make electrical and mechanical wiring modifications to diesel control circuits.
  • Rebuild and repair gas compressors (turbochargers) used for forced-induction of IC engines,
  • head gaskets, seals, water pumps, catalytic converters, torque heads, belts and hoses.

  • Conduct automatic and manual transfer tests of simulated power outages to ensure generators are functioning properly.
  • Test batteries, fuel coolant, and oil; ship oil samples for analysis.
  • Transport and dispose hazardous materials.
  • Qualifications :


  • BA degree or
  • In-depth understanding of the US Army two-level maintenance concept and related automated logistics management systems.
  • Specific experience utilizing maintenance tracking systems, executing maintenance in accordance with master work schedules, and implementing lean maintenance practices.
  • Experience with basic electrical, mechanical, thermal, and hydraulic principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of engine control systems and other program logic controls that are associated with IC power generation.
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical safety procedures.
  • Experience tracking, transporting, and disposing hazardous materials.
  • Skilled in the Microsoft Office Suite of tools.
  • Work independently, manage time, and adhere to deadlines.
  • Effectively communicate to the team, peers, and the customer in words and in writing.

  • Specific military generator operations and maintenance experience.
  • Specific CBRNE maintenance, sustainment, operations and support experience.
  • Experience using automated logistics management systems to document maintenance activities.
  • Current 49 CFR / IATA certification
