The role of Patient Advocacy Specialist is a contractor position with an important role for Ultragenyx to ensure that the patient perspective is a key consideration in all that we do.

We are looking for someone who has the desire to make a difference by helping support patients and patient groups. Key responsibilities include documenting the network of stakeholders we engage with across a number of rare diseases, maintaining the Patient Advocacy SharePoint, supporting the advocacy efforts in different rare diseases, working collaboratively across multiple initiatives to ensure that the patient perspective insights are captured, and developing strong relationships with all key patient groups in LATAM to ensure timely execution of the patient advocacy tactics.

Responsibilities

  • This position will maintain a primary focus supporting all regional key countries.
  • Support and monitor NPP processMaintain Patient Advocacy SharePoint including organizing and tracking patient advocacy materials.
  • Participate as an active member of the Global Patient Advocacy team.
  • Support conference attendance and follow-up from key conference meetings, diligence and partnering activities as needed.
  • Support and shadow other Patient Advocacy team members within the department including onboarding of new advocacy partnerships and support with ongoing projects.
  • Conduct meetings / teleconferences with key stakeholders prioritized in advocacy strategies to leverage national advocacy resources, and efforts to enhance program awareness & patient support
  • Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Effective Communicator Speak, listen and write in a clear and thorough manner.Team player work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions which are timely.
  • Empathy and compassion.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work on several projects with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to understand, apply an integrate insights.Flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic organization.
  • Experience in the area of patient advocacy and / or public policy.
  • Experience in NPP access processes (preferred)
  • Knowledge about NGOs management
  • Knowledge of patients personal information management and relevant legislation for interaction with patients (preferred)
