Genius Sports Media believes there’s a better way for sports and brands to connect with fans using the power of live sports data.

We deliver powerful, data-driven content to transform publishers sites, both large and small. But most importantly, we help fans understand the stories behind the stats.

The Role

We are looking for Software Engineers, who specialize in testing . Ideal candidates are hungry to learn continuously and take ownership of the tools and products that they work on in accordance to best practices for Agile Software Development, Continuous Delivery and DevOps.

We believe that a good engineer demonstrates adaptability and can learn new skills effortlessly if they are motivated by what they do.

The REAP team is responsible for aggregating millions of data points in Sport and Advertising. The team provides robust, scalable reporting services to support advertisers who use our media technology to engage Sports Fans.

Main responsibilities

Develop new tests and tools for our Genius Sports Media systems.

Work with our cross-functional, agile teams to understand how to test new features.

Promote best practices within the engineering teams, such as BDD, testability and maintainability.

Ensure automated tests execute reliably and efficiently in our CI / CD environments.

Ensure software quality is made visible in the organization, making sure defined quality KPIs are being met.

Required Skills

Excellent knowledge with at least two of the following programming languages : Python, Javascript, Java, Ruby, Kotlin, Go.

Any other languages are a plus

Professional experience building automated test suites for web apis

Knowledge of best practices in test such as test pyramids, code coverage, BDD and smoke testing.

Experience building monitoring and alerting suites

Enthusiasm and ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Experience building and testing cloud-hosted service in AWS

Excellent spoken and written English

Desirable Skills

Experience using Gitlab CI / CD

Experience with Kubernetes, Flux and Helm

Interest in Sport and Media

Familiarity with push-based architectures ( reactive streams, Kafka, RabbitMQ )

Willingness to learn and explore new technologies

Knowledge of progressive delivery patterns ( experiments, feature switching )
