Major Responsibilities

  • Achieve and exceed region’s quarterly and annual sales quota, strategic and unit sales mix objectives, profit goal and market share goals while implementing strategies and goals through management of dealers.
  • Develop and implement actions plans for increase install base in LACAR region.
  • Review BOND installed base in LACAR region with dealers, quarterly.
  • Review attachment rate in LACAR region with dealers, quarterly.
  • Drive standard work, funnel review process.
  • Develop sales plans and strategies to increase market penetration and market share.
  • Develop, solidify and maintain, high-level relationships within key accounts in each country of LACAR region.
  • Prioritize dealers and customer training and education on Advanced Staining instrumentation in laboratories based upon specific needs and demands of customers.
  • Serve as the technical leader on evaluations and installations of equipment, promoting the Leica portfolio and post-purchase applications support, ensuring the product is effectively meeting or exceeding anticipations.
  • Setup instrument per factory protocols, perform customer training to ensure proper utilization and conduct post training and follow up with accounts to ensure all expectations met or exceeded.
  • Maintain equipment in a clean and operational manner while exuding professionalism during customer interactions.
  • Provide scientifically based laboratory support to the customer for in field installations, evaluations, training and troubleshooting.
  • Develop and conduct demos, workshops, educational seminars, applications and general product presentations as appropriate at local and national technical meetings when authorized.
  • Collaboration with colleagues on the investigation of difficult technical applications situations with customers. Detail oriented assessment of customer situation, gathering all information and employing critical thought process
  • Maintain accurate and current customer contact and engagement history in assigned customer tools, information in a format that is accessible to the Company.
  • Participate in all new product introductions and coordinate the sell-off of all discontinued / obsolete models and equipment.
  • Support semi-annual Area Sales Meetings. Attend and staff national or local sales meetings.
  • Travel with sales representatives and dealers providing individual coaching and professional development to each member of the regional selling team and final customers (target three days per week or 60% of the available time).
  • Maintain a working knowledge of products, customer applications, and key customer needs and requirements for the pathology market.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of competitors product and their methods of selling as a means to assist direct sales representatives and dealers in competitive selling situations.
  • Develop strong working partnerships with Service & Application Management, Sales Operation Management, RA & QA Management and Business Strategy Management.
  • Required Education, Experience, Skills

    Education : BA / BS in Life Sciences or equivalent

    Experience, Skills : Professional Experience

  • 2 years’ Histology laboratory experience in clinical, research, or industrial setting with a practical focus on histopathology processing, routine staining and advanced staining (IHC / ISH / FISH).
  • Understanding of tissue processing and staining in the Histology marketplace or a related subject area.
  • 2 years’ experience in the optimization, operation, functionality, and support of both manual and automated histology instrumentation and related products preferred.
  • Histology / Cytology / Immunohistochemistry market knowledge
  • Experience with medical device sales cycles
  • Experience in the tissue diagnostics, medical devices industry
  • Experience working with clinical labs and hospitals
  • Demonstration of project, team leadership
  • Experience in distributor management a plus
  • Language : Spanish / English (advanced)
  • Travel : Up to 60%

  • Must Possess a valid Driver’s license and passport.
  • Ability to travel overnight for territory coverage (if applicable) and / or for company meetings
