The purpose of this role is to ensure that the markets’ indirect tax (VAT and connected indirect tax) processes are undertaken accurately, efficiently (utilising automation) and on time and the surrounding internal control procedures, legislative requirements are strictly adhered to.
The role will lead the implementation and ensure ongoing operation of the Global Indirect Tax processes, controls and automation tools under the new Tax Operating model for her / his team .
1. Managing a team and acting as a line manager for the team including end-to-end people management responsibilities for the direct reports assigned to you
2. Ensuring that VAT returns and connected supplementary returns are prepared according to the global standard process and controls, local DTP-s, on time and utilising automation tools where applicable.
3. Managing routine VAT and other indirect tax related audit enquiries and projects for your markets. Ensuring compliance with market specific regulatory requirements and legislative changes working closely with Global SME (VAT) and her / his team.
4. Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring these are done on time and in an internal and external control compliant way.
5. Coordinating the BS reconciliation preparation and review process. Actively managing and coordinating tax document retention for your markets .
6. Driving continuous process improvement through establishing a LEAN approach to drive effectiveness and efficiency - supporting process improvements and rollout of standardised processes and automation in the region.
6. Coordinating and overseeing the new controls and KPI report implementation, monitoring the implemented KPI-s, supporting investigation of the root-cause or errors and working with end-to-end processes to improve KPIs.
Ensuring market queries are responded by her / his team in a timely manner.
7. Providing training and any other kinds of technical support to the whole team and to other departments. Form the capability building of her / his team.
