The Global Communications team is responsible for connecting the world to lifelong learning and shaping public conversations about the future of education and work.
As the Latin America PR Lead, you will be based in Colombia and responsible for supporting the full range of PR efforts across Colombia and other key markets in the region including Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Costa Rica, Chile, and more.
This includes consumer PR, content launches, enterprise PR, thought leadership, speaking opportunities, and crisis communications.
You will also play an important role in supporting Coursera’s COVID-19 response initiatives related to Coursera for Campus and Coursera for Government.
You will lead the region’s PR planning, media strategy, asset development, spokesperson preparation, and agency management in close coordination with local leadership and regional partners.
As a key member of the global comms team, you will be integrated into many of our strategic initiatives, with active hands-on experience and participation in high visibility projects.
You will also be responsible for building a roster of key media relationships that are critical to telling our stories.
Manage the regional enterprise PR strategy; thoughtfully communicate Coursera’s leadership role in equipping individuals and institutions with skills to navigate the Fourth Industrial Revolution
Craft PR plans and messaging around major partner announcements and consumer content launches including courses, Specializations, Professional Certificates, MasterTrack Certificates, and degrees.
Build on a strong thought leadership program with speaker placements, reports, awards, and opinion articles that amplify our corporate and enterprise strategy
Develop localized PR assets such as press releases, blog posts, and briefing notes
Collaborate with marketing and the extended teams to identify PR opportunities and secure customer / partner participation in PR initiatives
Train local leadership and visiting executives for media interactions, effective messaging, and sensitivity to local issues;
coordinate with HQ on critical communications during crisis management
Basic Qualifications :
5-7 years of regional PR experience with an exceptional track record of executing PR mandates in tech, public sector, enterprise, and media companies, or in leading PR agencies
Ability to plan high impact launches and deliver needle-moving stories at a regular cadence, build a strong roster of regional media relationships and active pitching experience
Ability to manage senior executives, and engage in the strategic planning process and conversations
A knack for using data and insights to power thought leadership and media conversations
Strong project and agency management skills and ability to work autonomously
Passion for technology-powered solutions to solve global challenges
Fluent in English and Spanish
