The role covers Mexico business unit in LAC and engages continuously with the following people teams :
Mexico FP&A manager, Supply Manager, Treasury Manager (Mexico FLT) and teams
Financial Controllership team - BFC Reporting
Mexico STC and STP teams
External auditors (PwC)

Ensure preparation of financial statements in line with local accounting principles and statutory reporting obligations are fulfilled according to local Government legislation.
Keep in constant updating of accounting standards and provide continuous improvement and streamline of the accounting processes and activities.
Ensure accounting of transactions in responsibility area
Manage account mapping
Perform planning and process review for Statutory financial reporting cycle.
Coordinate monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc analytical review on statutory financial reporting.
Engage with statutory auditors.
Ensure that the year-end financial statements are audit compliant and to guarantee that supported markets fully meet local legislation and Diageo internal statutory reporting requirements.
Grant support to internal and external audits, ensure relevant information is provided and support to achieve satisfactory on any audit settlement, also support line manager on identified risks and its mitigation plan execution.
Keep contact with Statistics Offices.
Grant submission of statistical returns to authorities with regards to timing and success.
Ensure any relevant legislative or business change impacting the statutory core reporting processes is embedded, DTP is updated and properly reflects the country specific rules
Coordinate Profit reconciliation between Local and Corporate results
Proactively seek for process improvement opportunities and advise Line Manager on any non-compliance situation and alternative solutions.
Any other task designated or indicated by Line Manager to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness is achieved on accounting to guarantee Diageo is recognized as the most trusted and respected company on the markets it operates.
Qualifications and Experience Required :
Certified Public Accountant
Post graduate studies in IFRS (desired)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in accounting roles.
Fluent English and effective communication in Spanish
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Strong analytical skills and problem solving oriented
Strategic thinking and prioritization
Ability to work independently and also Team player
Change management / Training skills
Customer service oriented and good on relationship building
Accounting systems : SAP (preferable), AS400, Oracle, others
Advanced Microsoft excel
