Responsibilities / Tasks
To provide process engineering and mechanical engineering capabilities to assist in the preparation and presentation of tenders and proposals.
Upon securing a contract / order the incumbent (depending upon the size and complexity of the project) may be required to operate independently or as part of a project team to design, manufacture, installation, commissioning and document the project.
The tasks and responsibilities for the role include :
Provide process engineering troubleshooting and technical problem solving.Liaise with clients or clients' representatives in the managing of the projects and tasks as required.
Apply mature engineering knowledge with scope for individual accomplishment and coordination of difficult and responsible engineering assignments.
Deal with problems for which it is necessary to modify established guides and devise new approaches.Make some original contribution and / or apply new approaches and techniques to design or development of equipment or specific aspects of process plants and solutions.
Assist in the ongoing development of internal engineering systems.Work cooperatively with the team of engineers in the Business Unit in the preparation of quotations, and submit and present these to the customers, when required.
Work cooperatively with technical staff from other Business units within the Company.Work cooperatively with the Company administrative staff.
Prepare weekly timesheets and project reports.Assist in other parts of the Company's business as required to ensure the overall effectiveness of the Company

Experience & Competencies
Based on the above-mentioned requirements, candidates for the position have demonstrated abilities in the following areas :
Experience as proven by :
Hygienic design know-how, mainly liquid process.
Mechanical engineering know-how
Background experience and process knowledge in the chemical, dairy, food or beverage industries would also be highly desirable
Strong management capabilities to manage both internal and external resources within a project team environment will be crucial.
Machinery to be used during installation.
Interpersonal skills :
People management skills, to be able to instruct staff, deal with difficult staffing situations and maintain a productive, joyful but disciplined working environment (ability to explain and teach various skills to both skilled and unskilled workers).
Travel and commissioning estimated 25% of the time over the year
