Latin Americas Logistics Manager
We are looking for a strategic individual to define Huntsman’s approach to Logistics Purchasing in the LATAM region for all Huntsman Divisions.
This role will provide strategic direction, expertise in logistics contract Ts & Cs, negotiation support, leverage spend across divisions when / where appropriate and utilize their network of cross functional resources.
What will you be responsible for?
Identify and track all logistics service purchasing in LATAM region for all Huntsman Divisions
Develop proposals to capitalize on opportunities for improvement in Contracts, Service Agreements, Scope of Services, Compliance, etc.
Working with management, develop long term vision for the region’s logistics procurement activity, including planned approach for all divisions
Report on spend profile and spend by mode
Participate in ad hoc logistics purchasing activity ie : represent at customer sites, attend ship operations occasionally.
Identify opportunities for improvement and associated proposals
Contracts / Service Agreements / Spot Quote Activity - denoting any unusual or concerning contract language
Escalate any immediate areas of concern in the course of data collection, Compliance, Contracts.
Identify / qualify any logistics procurement activity where more immediate attention is needed, ie : new or significant contracts in progress, major service issues with current providers, etc
Include Ongoing Oversight in both activity and spend, and Management of the LSPs, warehouse & distribution & Storage Footprint.
Partner with Supply Chain representatives from each division to determine high priority projects and needs, create efficiencies by working with cross-
functional team to leverage Huntsman’s LATAM purchasing footprint
What skills and experiences are we looking for? Development
Transportation & Logistics / Distribution / Supply chain experience required.
Must have advanced level of proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs.
High level of competency in communications, all forms in English and Spanish is required.
Knowledge of compliance as it relates to FCPA, UKB, International Trade Risks
Practical knowledge of petrochemical liquid bulk terminal operations to include storage, pipeline, loading, and unloading procedures and systems.
Experience in bulk material handling operations and knowledge of terminal / warehouse industry standards for chemical product storage, including hazardous material storage, shipping practices a plus.
Must have strong negotiation / contracting skills, Sales & Marketing experience a major plus.
Must be able to demonstrate critical thinking, willingness to challenge established practices. Change Management skills a strong plus.
